Konami's product page says Belmont's Curse weapons span seven distinct categories. That sentence is the entire official list. This page collects the four categories that have actually been shown in play, marks who showed them, and leaves the other three as the gap they are.
The four categories we can source
| Category | How it plays | Grapple attack | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long sword | The starting weapon. Balanced reach and speed. | Pierces through the target and keeps your momentum | Preview coverage |
| Cestus | Short range, high commitment. | A rising uppercut, like a dragon punch | Preview coverage |
| Great sword | Slow, wide, built around charged swings. | A wide charging spin | Preview coverage |
| Whip-type | Its own category, so the whip is not a catch-all | Not described | Preview coverage |
The pattern to notice is that the grapple attack is what separates the categories, not the base swing. Because your entry into a fight comes off the whip, a weapon's identity is partly defined by what happens when you arrive, which is unusual for a 2D action game and is the reason the whip page and this one describe the same system from two directions.

The three categories nobody has named
There is no published source for three of the seven categories. They are not described on Konami's product page, not broken out on the Steam store listing, and not listed on the community wiki, whose item category for this game holds a handful of entries and no weapon index.
That is an unusual gap for a game two weeks from release, and it is worth being explicit about why this page does not fill it. Guessing weapon names would produce a list that looks complete, reads plausibly, and would be wrong in ways a reader could not detect until launch. The honest version is a shorter page that says so. If the full list appears, this page becomes the list.
Relics sit alongside weapons
The other half of the equipment system is Relics, which Konami describes as triggering powerful effects through both offense and defense. You can equip up to three at a time, and hands-on coverage describes the stronger ones as rewards for genuinely difficult optional content rather than as drops you find on the main path.
That three-slot limit is the loadout decision in the game: one weapon plus three relics plus whatever Arcana abilities you have earned. The gameplay page describes how those three layers combine, and the Arcana page covers the ability layer.
⚠️ One relic has a name. Family's Grace is included with the Midnight Edition, which makes it the only relic this site can name with an official source. Nothing else about the relic list is public.
Where to see them in play
The Gameplay & Commentary trailer is the one official video built around these systems, and it is indexed on the trailers page with its upload date and channel. If you want to try the categories yourself, the four confirmed ones are all reachable in the demo, which covers the chapter where the equipment system is introduced.
FAQ
How many weapons are in Belmont's Curse?
Konami says seven distinct categories. It has never published which seven, so no complete weapon list exists yet.
What are the seven weapon categories?
Four are known from preview coverage: long sword, cestus, great sword and whip-type. The other three have no published source.
Can I change weapons during the game?
The game is built around switching equipment and discovering new gear through exploration, and preview coverage describes combining equipment into your own playstyle. The exact inventory behaviour has not been published.
How many relics can I equip?
Up to three at a time, choosing from more than three.
Is the whip one of the weapon categories?
There is a whip-type category, so the whip exists in the weapon list as well as in the movement system. The category is not a catch-all for the other six.
